Sacrifice: The Feast of Surrender and Sharing

Eid al-Adha is an exceptional period of time with a deep spiritual meaning in Islam, where submission, gratitude and sharing come to the fore. This holiday reminds us of the best example of the devotion and submission to Allah, which is manifested in the story of Prophet Ibrahim and his son Prophet Ismail (a.s).

Eid al-Adha: Submission and Sharing – ILA Association

Sacrifice: Not Just a Slaughter, but an Act of Rapprochement

The act of sacrifice is not only the slaughter of an animal. It is a manifestation of the desire to get closer to Allah, an act of worship with wealth and social solidarity. In the Holy Qur'an, the wisdom of this worship is stated as follows:

"Neither their flesh nor their blood reaches Allah; it is only your piety that reaches Allah."

This verse makes it clear that intention and taqwa are more important than the physical aspect of sacrifice. Because what is acceptable in the sight of Allah is the deed done with ihllâs.

📌 (In Qurban, there are also material and spiritual benefits for people such as protection against accidents and calamities, healing of diseases and forgiveness of sins with the first blood of the sacrifice).

Spirit of Sharing and Brotherhood

The worship of sacrifice also reinforces the spirit of solidarity and solidarity in society. The meat of the sacrifices is shared with those in need, so that the joy of Eid reaches all segments of society. This sharing is not only a material aid, but also a door of charity that strengthens the bonds of brotherhood.
