The Holy Qur'an:
The Most Beautiful Gift
Learning and reading our exalted book, the Holy Qur’an, is an important duty for every Muslim. Memorizing it (hifz) is a blessing not granted to everyone.
In Cameroon, the green country of Africa, there are many children devoted to memorizing the Qur’an. Despite their limited means, families encourage their children toward this. In a region where access to printed books is difficult, the Holy Qur’an is learned by writing it on boards called Löh.
The Value of the Gift
As the ILA Association, in accordance with the hadith “The one who guides to a good deed is like the one who does it (Tirmidhi),” we wanted both to share in this reward and to share the joy of children reading from their own copies of the Holy Qur’an throughout their lives. We made hundreds of students the owners of their own Holy Qur’an. The joy of our little ones, whose hearts were adorned with the light of the Holy Qur’an, was a sight to behold.
The Occasion of Emotion
Although this may be a very ordinary (simple) feeling for many of us, for them it will be a memory they will remember with prayers of blessing throughout their lives. Perhaps, through this occasion, many of our children who learn that opportunities have become easier will also intend to become students of the Holy Qur’an.
The Revival of a Generation
“The revival of a generation comes not through the elimination of the wicked, but through the education and upbringing of the new generation.” we carried out our work in accordance with this principle.
