The Hz. Khadija Water Well
Has Been Opened in Kenya
Water… The essence of life, the shared heritage of humanity… Every drop is hope, every flow is life. As the ILA Association, on our journey of serving humanity, we have the honor of turning yet another dream into reality. The Hz. Khadija Communal Water Well, built in the village of Mumias in Kakamega County, one of the rural regions of Kenya, has been put into service for the village community.
A Water Well from Hearts United in Goodness
This meaningful water well came to life through different hearts meeting in the same goodness. Taking its name from Hz. Khadija, one of the pioneers of Islamic history and a symbol of sacrifice and grace, this project was completed through the shared prayers and support of benefactors who, in a sense, walk in her footsteps. Our well was established to provide the village community with clean and safe drinking water. And now the village of Mumias is stronger and more hopeful against the hardships brought by water scarcity.
Emotional Moments at the Opening Ceremony
On the opening day, joy and excitement prevailed in the village. Women, children, and the elderly experienced the comfort of reaching water in just a few steps. There were smiles on their faces and gratitude in their eyes. Representatives of the ILA Association, local authorities, and the village community attended the ceremony. Through the prayers offered and heartfelt thanks, it was felt that the well was not merely a structure, but a work of goodness uniting hearts.

Water: A Drop of Life, a Path of Hope
In many parts of Kenya, reaching clean water still requires walking for kilometers. Especially for women and children, this is a great burden in terms of both time and health. The Hz. Khadija Communal Water Well has eased this burden; it has brought health, cleanliness, and saved time. Now children can grow up healthier, women can use their time more productively, and families can sustain their lives with clean water.
A Goodness Flowing from Heart to Heart
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our benefactors who contributed to this project. Each donation became hope, like a drop of mercy falling on parched soil. This water well, opened together, became one of the most beautiful examples of doing good together and giving life together.
Let us not forget: A water well means not just water, but a whole village full of life.
